Congratulations on your new kitten! Thank you for choosing us to help protect and care for your new addition to your family.
We are dedicated to getting your kitten started on the right path to a long and healthy life. The first few months are a critical period in your kitten’s development, and we can provide you with the support and tools necessary to help them grow into a well-adjusted, healthy cat. This includes valuable information and advice on nutrition, behavior, and litterbox training, ensuring your kitten thrives in their new home.
Schedule your kitten for their first exam as soon as possible. Until your kitten has received a series of vaccines, they are susceptible to many serious but preventable diseases. We will discuss vaccines and appropriate vaccine schedules with you and help determine your pet’s risk to other preventable diseases. We may administer vaccines against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia (FVRCP), Rabies, and Feline Leukemia (FeLV).
We recommend bringing a stool sample on your first visit to test for intestinal parasites, which are common in kittens and young cats. This helps us check for intestinal parasites that can cause gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, soft stool, or vomiting, though not all pets may show symptoms. We offer deworming treatments to address common parasites such as roundworms and hookworms. If necessary, we will treat for other parasites like giardia, coccidia, and tapeworms.
We also will discuss viral testing of kittens and young cats looking for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
